I feel its important to work on functional fitness for our crews as our job entails lots of manual tasks. So isometric & static weight lifting isn’t regarded as the best option (even though it has its place).
Try to incorporate:
1. Dynamic Stretching
2. Team building activities
3. Functional structured classes
4. Problem solving activities such as quizzes, riddles, knott tying etc. in a timed manner to build on that operational stress we encounter when on a job.
I feel this helps to:
- Build team cohesion & morale
- Promotes teamwork
- Makes the workouts more fun
- Demonstrates good field team leadership
